No matter, it's filthy; I'm really no gem

I hide behind laughter, I'm not worth a glance
I am dumb and freakish, give me no second chance

Berate me, insult me, make me suffer some more
Please remind me I'm terrible, whiny, a whore

Crazed and wild, feral eyes; right there, do you see?

That which I bungled, complete mistake
To fix this error time it will take
Political ties I cannot break

My soul is bared, my pride at stake
Personality I can't afford, I leave my person in my wake
Devoid of feeling, facade beginning to cake
I become a puppet, someone's tool, my soul is now fake

I've broken myself, for my success's own sake
No more tears do I shed, now my shoulders don't shake
Without the existence of my heart I can no longer ache
To ever have dreams was my life's true mistake
